• It is only too easy to be persuaded to purchase a machine that looks good and is supposedly being sold with hundreds s off the normal price, only to find that it is powered by a cheap processor producing a diabolical performance.
• I ensure that any machine that I sell has a processor that I am satisfied will meet and exceed the customers' expectations. I do not do ‘cheap’ processors.
• I will carry out the initial system set-up ensuring sensible options to avoid the usual pitfalls and problems that can arise from not understanding the full implications of some of the choices.
• I will install a number of background utilities that are needed for internet browsing and file handling. I also add a range of application software to enable the machine to be used to its full potential.
• I will update the operating system to bring it completely up to date, and configure the machine for the best performance.
• If the customer has any specialist software that they require to be installed, I am happy to include this in the build. I will then deliver the machine and carry out the on-site set-up which includes basic customization, setting up email and internet access, and connecting to any compatible printers. It is also normally possible to transfer personal data files from an old machine—even one that is no longer usable.
